I too, failed to watch what TIAA was doing and failed to compare it to the alternatives. Sticking to a mix high on CREF has found me facing unknown end-of-life expenses at a time when CREF has brobably taken a very big hit. I should have switched some of the CREF value into TIAA ten years ago and had larger payments.<BR/><BR/>However, while what to do now is not easy to answer, I don't think that you should be in a hurry to switch, and certainly not to a fund with a short history. I am quite happy to be in the TIAA I hold and will sit tight until the fog clears.<BR/><BR/>What concerns me is that TIAA-CREF has not told us how the meltdon has affected their holdings and how our payments will be affected when they are reset. Long term is great when your have many years to go, but when you don't, thinking short term has merit.<BR/><BR/>Be of good cheer.
